We have comprehensive experience of environmental acoustic modelling software such as SoundPlan, CADNA and NoiseMap. Ramboll part-owns and contributes to the development of Odeon, used to model the acoustics of spaces and to create auralisations. SoundSpace enables the acoustic quality of a project to be evaluated at design stage, allowing decisions on possible scheme modifications. We developed SoundSpace, based on the industry-standard modelling software Odeon, which when linked to a loudspeaker array creates a 3D surround sound environment. All our acoustic modelling techniques, physical and virtual, are used to assess the impact of changes and identify the most effective solutions. Ramboll is a pioneer of scale and computer modelling. Our multidisciplinary team works with the latest measurement equipment, digital modelling, noise-reduction techniques and design processes for a result that balances the needs of clients, users and the local community. Ramboll’s portfolio of transport projects covers air, rail, road, shipping, offshore and terminal/interchange buildings, the acoustics of which are integral to project design. We have proven track record in ameliorating the noise and vibration from transportation, construction and environmental sources. Our extensive knowledge and range of integrated design principles allow us to propose effective acoustic control solutions, while identifying potential impacts. Ramboll uses a range of techniques including noise and vibration monitoring, environmental impact assessment and noise mapping to establish the ambient acoustics of a site.
